![]() ![]() The romance was taken to a whole other level and if it’s even possible I think I love the characters more. It was a brilliant way of ending Ayla and Alessio’s crazy adventure of a love story! It was full of action and suspense. Suffice to say, Part 3 really did the series justice. I fell in love with this series straight away and have been truly invested in the outcome. I’m feeling a little conflicted at the moment! I’m equally as happy as I am sad to have finished with Ayla and Alessio’s story! But when his Angel is back in his arms, will things go back to the way they were before or will their short-lived happiness have disappeared? Alessio has had it with the games, he is going to get Ayla back and he doesn’t care who has to die in the process. Everyone knows not to mess with the pakhan and his woman but yet people still do. ![]() Picking up shortly after Part 2 ends, The Mafia and His Angel Part 3 is a beautiful action-packed conclusion to Alessio and Ayla’s love story. ![]() The Mafia and His Angel: Part 1 | The Mafia and His Angel: Part 2 Be sure you read those before part 3! Also, be sure to follow the author on all her social media, as always all those links as well as the TBR and purchase links are in the post! And of course, ther is a giveaway, so go ahead and enter that!! If you haven’t read the first two parts of this series, I’ll link my reviews below. It’s bittersweet really, I don’t want to say goodbye to them but in a way I’m happy that they’ve got their happily ever after. I feel like I know these characters on such a deep level. ![]()

To briefly recap for newcomers: Crispin Guest is a disgraced knight turned detective on the streets of late 14th-century London. So including an interview with the author for this series finale seemed like a neat idea. Back in 2008, I'd published her guest post about Veil of Lies, in which Crispin made his first appearance in print, and this week the 15th and final book, The Deadliest Sin, will appear from Severn House. I've also reviewed a couple of the books here, including Cup of Blood (the prequel) and The Deepest Grave (book 11). With her appearances on this blog during the publication of her Crispin Guest medieval mystery series, Jeri Westerson is coming full circle.

Plato’s Socrates does not appear to be attempting to avoid a death sentence on purpose. The rebellious tone of Socrates’ defense is one of the central points of debate among scholars. Socrates concluded that, while it is difficult to state anything with certainty about knowledge, he was better than all others with whom he inquired about wisdom in that he is at least conscious of his ignorance, whereas others are not. They had the delusion that they knew something when, in fact, they didn’t, as Socrates discovered when he questioned them about their expertise. Socrates observed that because of their accomplishment in a particular profession or subject, people mistook it for wisdom and understanding. During his investigation, he found no one who claimed to be intelligent was truly wise. Socrates sought to put this prophecy to the test by questioning those who claimed to be intelligent. This quest began with the Oracle of Delphi’s revelation that Socrates was the wisest of all the Greeks. Plato’s Socrates claims that the deity has given him a duty to question those who profess to be smart, whether they be politicians, poets, craftsmen, affluent or poor. ![]() ![]() Ware clearly understands the economy of his medium, and some of Building Stories’ finest moments have been wordless ones where Ware constructs the story in pure imagery.
